Bardolino takes its name from the town Bardolino on the shores of Lake Garda and was awarded Denominazione di origine controllata (DOC) status in 1968. Cantina del Garda is one of most renowned cooperatives in all of Veneto, so who better to look to for a light and fruity Bardolino?

Deliveries are made Monday to Friday and not normally on Saturdays, Sundays or Bank Holidays though Saturday deliveries are possible on payment of an additional charge. Soils are of fluvial-glacial origin and the vines are planted at a density of 3,000 per hectare, using the pergola trellising system. The Corte Giara wine label enjoys huge respect in Veneto, because the Allegrini Family has a rich 400-year history in the Italian winemaking scene. Concerning again the Bardolino DOC, its grapes picking period is the last decade of September, most of all for the Rondinella and Molinara vines, while the Corvinia grapes picking takes place two weeks later because it needs a more adequate maturation.The “Bardolino DOC” and “Bardolino Classico DOC” are easy to drink with their fruity smell and their scents of strawberry, raspberry, cherry, currant and marasca cherry; on the other hand wines belonging to the three subgroups – refined during at least one year – are seasoned with spices such as cloves, cinnamon and black pepper. A characteristic feature of the winemaking techniques followed at Masi is the Appassimento technique. When drunk young, a dry Bardolino is a lively pleasure that can be enjoyed every season of the year. Two varieties of Bardolino are produced in this area: the Bardolino DOC in all its versions: “Bardolino DOC”, “Bardolino Classico DOC”, “Bardolino Chiaretto DOC”, “Bardolino Chiaretto Classico DOC”, “Bardolino Chiaretto Spumante DOC” and “Bardolino Novello DOC”; and the Bardolino Superiore DOCG (Designation of Controlled and Guaranteed Origin); they both obtained their mark in 1968.

The Bardolino in its entirety is a versatile wine: it matches with all kind of dishes, from the starter to the dessert, from the Italian cooking to the exotic one; there is a huge variety of combinations. It has a dry and sapid taste, lightly bitter but harmonic and fine, of great quality and sometimes depending on the settling time it could be lightly sparkly. Corte Giara Bardolino DOC is a delightful Italian red wine made from a blend of Corvina, Rondinella, and Molinara grapes. The wines Colla Asolani Prosecco and Spumante Superiore, the wine Colli di Conegliano Bianco, Refrontolo, Rosso e Passito, Colli Euganei, Colli Asolani, Piave, Recioto della Valpolicella, Recioto di Gambellara, Soave e Soave Superiore, Colla Asolani Prosecco and Spumante Superiore, all of them with the Denominazione di Origine Controllata e Garantita DOCG certification.Cool nights at this vineyard give this rosé a zippy freshness, just what you want on a hot summer's afternoon!
