I’d heard stories of how Russ would wheel it outside to the swimming pool to work on his latest movie, or disappear for weeks at a time while cutting together his footage. Lamar lies inside a water-filled bathtub as a robe wearing Eufaula Roop stands above him and baptizes (and almost drowns) him.

She’ll sue – or at least threaten to – anyone who screens even clips of Meyer’s films or uses Russ’ name without her permission. In my opinion, Meyer is at his best when he's mixing comedy porn with a thriller plot structure - with Faster Pussycat! She initially claimed Meyer told her to do that, but he wasn’t of sound mind then and almost certainly had no idea what was going on. Grade A stay-over visitors were shown the guest house around the back by the pool; lesser acquaintances made do with a fold-out cot among the storage. The style of the film seems to be a parody of the American "apple pie" theme and the story is told by a narrator, who seems to be taking on the role of the "all American workman", the twist being that he's always talking about perversion.Currently you are able to watch "Beneath the Valley of the Ultra-Vixens" streaming on Plex for free. He’d built an extension onto the back of the Arrowhead Drive house so he could escape from prying eyes and work on his films.

As the dentist hurts Lavonia's teeth and she counters by grabbing his crotch painfully, Lamar rapes the nurse. The plot isn't really relied upon and the film is more of an excuse for Meyer to present a load of silly scenes; but that isn't a problem. This article may contain an excessive amount of intricate detail that may interest only a particular audience. Was there any news about Russ’ films, and whether they would be made available more widely, perhaps on BluRay, perhaps in film festivals? I don't think Russ Meyer was really trying to say anything with this film - there's a slight hint of a point stemming from the idea of "Smalltown, USA is a normal small town, but look what goes on behind closed doors! At least a film a year, from the black-and-white, nudie-cutie, creeper-peeper, titillate-and-tease talkies of the late 1950s, through to the ballistic-sadistic, primary-colored, explicit distillation of his erotomania in the mid 1970s. Even more unfortunately, there is A LOT of male nudity in this movie, which is going to turn off most men. It’s flawed but I highly recommend it as it’s about the most definitive account of Meyer and his films. He readied himself for his swansong, Beneath the Valley of the Ultra-Vixens, and bought a house in which he could film most of the scenes over an eight-week period in 1977. In truth, that’s all the house was: a film studio hangar combined with a personal shrine, crammed with film making equipment, such as his revered editing machine and boxes of artifacts.
