I always trial perfumes in different ways, so after doing light sprays I went to my guest bathroom and sprayed myself like 5 times to see if more notes would come out. Its deep, and full and as soon as I sprayed it, this full bodied warmth filled both nostrils and surrounded me in this beautiful perfumed cloud. So close to the discontinued Tentations from Paloma Picasso, though without the strong note of cloves. I'm sure side by side I could pick out the differences but with a 20 year gap (seriously, how it that possible? Sophia Grojsman the most distinguished perfumer and nose in the industry created this beautiful rose perfume for Elizabet Taylor in 1993.

I smell like i rubbed powder scented baby oil on me and then dumped unsweetened cocoa powder on top of that. this is like seeing a range of paintings by one of your favorite artists -- she has a distinct style and sophistication that you can definitely discern from a lot of other perfume creators. It’s a bit too boozy for me at first, I love the peach, but then the vanilla sweetens it all too much. Its interesting out of the fragrant jewels it seems there is always one that reviews mention they absolutely don't prefer. It is potent for being an edt in both persistence and sillage, I prefer to spray this on the mid of my body and on the wrist because it is so intense.

Diamonds and Rubies, like Diamonds and Emeralds, is one I keep coming back to every few months, wondering how it will land now. I was expecting a bit more saturated and rich aroma but somehow I feel only PEACH and no jasmine, no Lilly, no roses as it should be. She is not matronly but motherly, sweet, soft, loving, nurturing, and at peace, but still sexy as hell. For me, the almond wood, rose, and spices are what I pick up on the most with slight notes of the Jasmine.

Oh and now that I’m no longer stuffy I agree with my previous review it does have a Gloria Vanderbilt powder vibe to it. Lasts over six hours but close to the skin, yet it still has some life to it and doesn't really become a skinscent, and doesn't wash away completely in the shower if I applied it in the last couple hours. Slightly oriental, with hints of incense and rather indescernible spices, giving it an aura of luxury and mystery, slightly powdery floral, softening it, lightly boozy with hints of liqueur making it intoxicating. More soft and musky than those though, I’d still say those three are better but this is definitely worth a try and for so cheap out there too, not bad! Rose can be a problem for me, though this is an odd dustier rose on me, not the nuclear rose I get from some fragrances. As for comparisons I would say Tresor by Lancome it's different, yes they share the peach and the way it is used, but here I feel it is more sweet; in Tresor you get that "peach's skin or is it skin like peaches? I'm looking forward to spraying this on a willing tester, because honestly perfume does either work with or against our chemistry, and just like how food tastes, smell is also a preference. Well, it is just about identical when I did a side by side comparison of the two and since it is impossible to find a bottle of sun moon and stars that doesn't smell off I'm thrilled too have this inexpensive hidden gem!
