Description

I should point out that the retro element of this radio refers to its general shape rather than other aspects of the device which is based on products that were popular in the 1960s. The sound will not blow you away, and it won’t beat a hi-fi system, but by no means is the sound lacking in any way or form.

Plus I do not know of any radios available in the 1960s that featured an LCD screen which provides feedback regarding the current station. However on closer inspection, this radio offers a number of features that tend to be at odds with what was available at that point in time. The people at Goodman’s recently brought stylish panacea to our lives when they sent us the Oxford DAB Digital Radio: it has the design and feel of the 1960’s with the practicality of a modern radio. cm, it sits easily on a shelf or kitchen top – but the 1960s-inspired design hides the latest DAB technology giving you superior reception quality and access to a wealth of digital only stations such as 5 Live Sports Extra and 6 Music. Get a wide choice of DAB+ and FM stations in crystal clear digital sound with an easy to read LCD display.Choose from stylish colours and tonnes of additional features to find the perfect radio for you - and be sure to check back regularly to make the most of our offers and sale events, so that you can find all of the electrical accessories you need for less.

This could be a very convenient feature if you have a lot of music on your phone or regularly stream music from YouTube or Spotify. It’s great for speech programmes and Radio 4, but leaves something to be desired when listening to music. As a registered member you get 10 free posts from our archive (posts more than a year old) every 30 days. I do not know why this happens but I tend to imagine images of a period when life was conducted at a more leisurely pace. Oxford delivers a contemporary update on a classic design, enabling you to listen to Digital radio in style. From loudspeakers via in car audio to digital tv, it’s our business to bring innovative products within everyone’s reach. An easy to read high contrast LCD display provides all the useful information you expect from a modern Digital Radio Oxford captures the style of the sixties with its faithful design chrome detailing and vintage colour scheme. On the top panel, there is a clear LCD scrolling display so it’s easy to navigate, along with a couple of dials for power/volume and tuning. This panel features a centrally positioned LCD screen with backlight that I could find no way to alter the default timing setting. The OXFORD and OXFORDBT DAB+ digital radios can also be powered from the mains power using the lead provided.

This can be useful for adjusting your antenna to achieve the best possible reception and scanning for a particular channel to update the station list. Combining classic design with contemporary functions, Heritage II Connect is a fully featured Digital Radio with Spotify Connect, Bluetooth streaming and wireless multi-room audio. As the cottage is all on one level, the upbeat songs drift down the hallway to The Girls and bring them into the kitchen to get dressed.Products shown, tagged or featured on YouTube by creators are sold by merchants and are subject to merchant's terms and conditions. Possibly because it was "refurbished" DAB stations were all pre-tuned and it was simply a matter of deciding which to use the pre-sets for. To the left of the screen are a couple of rotary wheels that provide on/off/volume control and manual tuning for station and menu options.

For example, they mention that the power cable just will not stay in place, the cable at the back slips out fairly easily, and it doesn't feel like it belongs in the back of the product. For years we owned an old stereo system but when hubby put all our old CD’s on iTunes we didn’t use it anymore and listened to music through the computer so we decided to get rid of it to give us more room. With a modern interpretation of the original look and feel, Oxford comes in subtle colour and chrome combinations that are referenced from the period. Features: Stylish 1960s retro design Superb sound quality DAB/DAB+/FM wavebands Mains or battery operation 3. Setting up and learning to use the radio is straightforward, but you might need to check the user manual here.It offers both FM and DAB, just in case your favourite radio station hasn’t made it to DAB yet, though I stick with DAB most of the time I am playing with this. A smart extra feature of Oxford is that you can also connect other devices such as mobile phones or MP3 players directly vie the 3.
