He works out the man is a European, and gets Bill to provide a list of all such working for the airline.

We watch him and his blackmailed partner, "undesirable" Frederick Pimm, aka Ferenc Pimescu, hiding the paintings on a barge moored at Chelsea Reach. He has the persistence of Columbo and the style of Holmes - and not even the most elusive fugitive can hide when he is on the hunt. Duval's investigations via Mexico City leads to Andros in the Bahamas and an ex wartime patrol boat and its owner but he has never left the island and the patrol boat was wrecked three months before. The plot starts very similarly to the Man from Interpol story The Man Who Sold Hope, though this is more rambling. They reckon without 'The Collector', an associate of the gangster who has killed in New York, Rome, and Paris when they cannot pay what they owe.

Captain Pierre Gallard (Francis de Wolff) is the next visitor, captain of Sapphire, the boat on which Talbot had been working. In the haul are a Van Gogh, 3 Rembrandts, a Renoir and a Lautrec -the thieves knew which ones to nick! Trouble is, seven days previously he'd been reported as lost overboard from the freighter Sapphire 2000 miles away in the Med south of Marseilles. Art Theft" are the newspaper headlines after Sir Isaac Spendler's private art collection is stolen from his 23rd floor penthouse suite, "sealed off like Fort Knox. A very entertaining old series, some of which I was allowed to stay up and watch the first time round in 1959.

A long scene as Bonnier creates a diversion and Duval, as in many a western, circles behind Leroy and gets his man. Sanchez comes from the isle of Andros where Duval meets the shady Gonzalez, who owns a patrol boat similar to the vessel used in the attack on the Jensen.A thin storyline, to do with Vic Leroy (Peter Dyneley), a successful businessman, whom Inspector Duval recognises at a Montreal Interpol Conference, as a murderer who escaped his clutches back in 1939. Duval travels to South America to extradite a wanted criminal but ends up in the midst of civil war. I was surprised by the high production values, the crisp storylines (all told in 25 minutes), and the chance to spot some actors before they became more famous. Duval puts his life on the line when he retraces the exact movements of the courier and discovers the courier had met a Paris vice madam whose boyfriend is a notorious Istanbul killer needing to get to Paris to kill a witness in a vice trial. But it's surely "impossible" for Cliff to be the killer, since he is a thousand miles away in the race.

A frustrating story of the old ticking bomb and a hunt for an elusive man, the only person who knows how it can be defused. The main Interpol suspect was killed a few weeks earlier in Marseilles but Duval is not convinced he is dead. The Spanish police are at least able to make it impossible for him to change his Israeli currency, forcing Baker to stay in Spain and send Diane to Paris. At Marseilles Professor Velard is killed and wanted criminal Jacques Morrell (John Salew) takes his place.S. patrol boat intercepts a Danish cargo ship in the Caribbean and steal a million dollars of platinum killing the crew. It is a race against time to recover the missing ten boxes of vaccine, that the Delhi doctor is now adminstering to her patients.
