A five star rating is 2020 minutes or more, and similarly 1540 minutes for four stars, 1060 minutes for three stars and 580 minutes for two stars. In fact, you might be hard-pressed to notice much of a difference between the regular and Bass Boost mode playback--my daughter actually couldn't tell them apart. We made our durability test for wireless headphones more rigorous from May 2018, so the star ratings for wireless headphones from then onwards aren't comparable to wireless headphones tested before. In terms of headphone battery life as a significant factor in the purchase decision, it depends on what you want to use the headphones for and potentially how often you will be able to recharge them. I bought these to listen to dnb with as my old ones had the ear parts wearaway but these are phenomenal sound quality compared to my last.

Others Other company and product names mentioned herein may be trademarks of their respective owners. The upper end of the rocker has a bump you can feel, and it controls the volume up (short press) and next track (long press). Once powered up, a single short press of the button gives you a tone in the headset for Bass Setting 1 ("regular"--I guess), another press gets you two tones for the Bass Settings 2 ("boost" mode. Headphones with a higher impedance of around 250 Ohms and above are then more suitable for playback from really powerful signal sources or using a headphone amplifier, otherwise the sound coming out of them might not be loud enough. This is done in two ways: firstly, we ask our five member expert listening panel to note how much sound they can hear while the headphones are playing next to them.

I suppose that's okay as we found the battery easily lasted all the way through an 11 hour road trip with our kids; but just be aware that you can't juice your headphones passively from a regular headphone jack when the battery dies. Today we are reviewing two cheap models made by JVC - the HA-S31M-A which is the wired version and the HA-S31BT which as the name suggests connects via Bluetooth. The full range of sounds is nicely balanced, but that upper frequency shimmer you hear on the best headphones and the solid, thunderous bass, at the lowest frequencies is not here.

Although these are over-the-head headphones that are normally characterized by their bulky nature, this model can be folded into a more compact form. Guess I should sell em online to someone who thinks jvc makes the best of everything like I used to think. The JVC HA S31BT are wireless headphones that allow unrestricted movement and thus increase comfort while listening to music. Max volume is far too loud for my comfort so if you have hearing loss or don’t value your hearing, they can be plenty loud. Sure, you can spend WAY more on BT headphones with flashier style, more features, greater brand-name recognition (though for you young 'uns in the crowd, JVC was once-upon-a-time a true titan in the word of consumer electronics), ultra-premium construction, etc.Our expert listening panel and lab professionals assess how well the headphones prevent sound leaking out to their surroundings. The headphone volume seems able to overpower their own drivers and sound stressed out, with some distortion becoming apparent.
